SHORT BIOGRAPHY

Igor Cognolato (Treviso, 1965) is an Italian pianist of Croatian and Hungarian descent. He is professor of Piano Performance at the Conservatorio ‘Benedetto Marcello’ in Venice, where he graduated with distinction under Vincenzo Pertile. He pursued his musical education at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater Hannover, Germany, under Brazilian pianist Roberto Szidon.

Since then, Igor has performed regularly in Europe and the United States in a repertoire that particularly favors works by Franz Liszt and Robert Schumann, while also devoting himself with equal dedication to the classics and contemporary music, including several premieres.

Since 2017, he has also been vice-president of the Richard Wagner Verband in Venice.
